Krstic's illustrations are superb. Through a series of increasing resolutions from organ to cell, the artist walks the reader through the hierarchy of functional organization in human tissues. Not coming from a medical background, I found myself initially struggling with the terminology on each introductory plate, but as I zoomed in with each successive plate, the concepts inevitably became more distinct and the reasons for delimiting them more clear.I would highly recommend this to researchers as a reference text, but also to anyone who loves to find inspiration in how elaborate and intricately articulated the structures of our physical world are.
