Very useful. Simplifies the full handbook by providing the information machinists use the most often. About 1/4 the size of the machinist handbook. Does not fit in your pocket lol. Worth every penny.
I know "Big Machines" need the "Whole Book" "Called the Machinist's Bible" by some.But this gives Everything a Hobby Machinist Needs, And THEN Some. I have looked up Multiple Issues, and found what I needed, quickly, and "To the Point".If your working metal as a HOBBY, buy this!
cheaper than the big book but the thread od id and pd specs only go up to 1 inch threads. also sfm values for different materials seem to only be listed for hss and not carbide . i bought the book for my tool box and i keep the big book in my office but this does not replace the big one
Pages are easy to read due to increased font size and thickness of the new paper they use. Trust me, get this one and not the Toolbox version.Dimensions were roughly the size of a college textbook.
This is a great book if you are doing basic machining. For example, this book has a threading section but it just goes over the very common thread types. If you need a quick reference this is great.
Excellent book and a must have for anyone doing machining work.
Don't buy the Machinery's Handbook or guide without the Pocket Companion. This is the Cliffnotes for machinests!
